ACES BUILDING TRAUMA-INFORMED SYSTEMS

SUMMARY

Assist your local association, school or community with becoming trauma-informed in order to help our most vulnerable students excel in social, emotional and academic learning. This 2-1/2 day training enables participants to discover the ACEs research, examine components of trauma-informed schools and gather tools to assist students with building their resiliency and strengthening their executive function skills.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

Assess where their organization is on the continuum of becoming trauma-informed.

Determine their portals of entry or spheres of influence in order to raise the level of awareness and knowledge base in their own settings.

Formerly, known as Training of Trainers, these sessions lay the groundwork that will assist you or your team in building trauma-informed systems.

If you don’t have any background on ACEs, we urge you to watch two videos prior to arrival at the training.

Dr. Nadine Burke Harris’ Ted Talk on ACEs

Dr. Marjorie Fujara’s short webinar for IEA members on the effect of ACEs on the brain called: It’s Not Rocket Science. It’s Brain Science.

Both are posted on the IEA website.
